Early this month, GCF Estate Planning and Tax attorneys Todd Fennell, Dillon Roberts, and Justin Larson attended the annual Florida Tax Institute (FTI) held in Tampa, Florida. This unique program is organized by the graduates and professors of the University of Florida Levin College of Law and presents materials addressing some of the most sophisticated tax issues affecting our clients, their businesses, and their legacies. FTI hosts some of the most respected expert speakers and planners from all over the world.
This year FTI recognized the graduates of the University of Florida Masters of Tax (LL.M.) class of 1992 who celebrated their 30th reunion with FTI. Florida’s Tax LL.M. program is one of the oldest and most respected programs in the country, consistently ranked as one of the top two programs in the nation (https://www.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-law-schools/tax-law-rankings). Pictured above (left to right) are Dillon Roberts, Justin Larson, Professor Dennis Calfee and Todd Fennell. Professor Calfee is a legendary and long-tenured faculty member of Florida’s Tax LL.M. program (beginning his career over 40 years ago) and a prolific author of over 20 books and treatises. Of the eight current members of Gould Cooksey Fennell’s Estate Planning and Tax Group, six graduated from Florida’s Tax LL.M. program, and all six were students of Professor Calfee.
