Dillon L. Roberts is a member of the Firm’s Estate Planning and Tax Group. Mr. Roberts’s practice areas include estate planning, estate and trust administration, and business and real estate structuring and tax planning. He also handles matters regarding family business succession planning, valuation, and liquidity. Mr. Roberts has represented clients in entity formations, tax-sensitive restructuring, as well as matters involving acquisitions and dispositions of equity interests and assets. His practice also includes complex estate and gift tax planning and income tax planning matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Roberts served honorably in the U.S. Army, 4th Brigade of the 10th Mountain Division, with service in Afghanistan as a scout platoon leader. He was a distinguished graduate from officer candidate school, officer armor basic course, and an honor graduate of U.S. Army Ranger School.
Mr. Roberts earned his Juris Doctor degree in 2011 from the University of Florida, College of Law, cum laude, where he earned the highest grade in his Real Estate Transactions course. Mr. Roberts later earned his Masters of Laws (LL.M) in Taxation, also from the University of Florida, where he earned the highest grade in his Estate Planning course.
In 2019, Mr. Roberts earned his Florida Bar Board Certification in Tax – one of the only three attorneys in the state of Florida who were awarded that distinction in that year. Currently, less than 200 attorneys in Florida are Board Certified as Tax Specialists. He maintains an “AV” rating by Martindale-Hubbell’s peer review rating system, the highest such rating available to any individual lawyer. Since 2018 Super Lawyers has named him as one of Florida’s “Rising Stars,” effectively ranking him as one of the top 2.5% of attorneys in the state, as chosen by their peers and through the independent research.
Mr. Roberts is the Secretary of the Indian River County Estate Planning Council, is a member of the VNA Foundation Planned Giving Council Advisory Board and serves on the board for the ARC of Indian River County.

Notable Settlements and Verdicts
Plaintiff was operating a small motorcycle/scooter when a 91 year old man turned left in front of him hitting him essentially head on. As a result of the collision, the Plaintiff sustained catastrophic injuries to his lower body, including snapped femurs and fractures to the spine and pelvis. After a two week trial the Indian River County jury returned an award totaling $9.381 million.
Medical negligence claim arising out of a breach in the standard of care by a physician and hospital in which an incorrect, corrosive chemical was used during a gynecological procedure, resulting in acid burns and severe permanent injuries to the Plaintiff.
A Brevard County Jury awarded Plaintiff $6.4M against Defendant State Farm, following an accident that resulted in numerous catastrophic orthopedic injuries, including a below knee amputation of the Plaintiff’s left leg.
